The Inner Unit (also known as inner tie rod) is the core consumable component of D-type and B-type form tie systems. It is permanently cast into concrete walls, connecting two external form ties to maintain consistent wall thickness and provide reliable tensile strength equivalent to 10.8mm – 1/2" diameter, effectively resisting lateral pressure during concrete pouring.

Ensures precise concrete wall thickness ranging from 100mm up to 1200mm and above, while stabilizing formwork panels.

Advantage

The inner unit stays embedded in concrete, while external form ties are detachable and reusable for cost efficiency.

Installation

Installed between two outer form ties (she-bolts) and supported by plastic cones (typically 40–50mm). Cones can be removed after concrete curing.

Consists of a high-strength central rod, threaded ends for secure connection, and compatible plastic cones for positioning and easy removal.

Standard Lengths

Common lengths include 100mm, 150mm, 200mm, 250mm, 300mm and extended sizes. Custom lengths are available to meet specific wall thickness requirements.
